Description: WWII Era Original US Army USMC Medical Corps Bolo Knife w/Leather Scabbard - Marked: USMC Chatillon, NY - Very NICE Condition Up for sale is a WWII Era Original US Army USMC Medical Corps Bolo Knife w/Leather Scabbard. The Blade is bright, with area of discoloration and minor surface pitting spots on one side of the blade, see photo. No rust. The Blade is marked: USMC Chatillon, NY. The wooden handles are in Very NICE Condition, no chips or breaks, just normal handling nicks or marks. They are the early three rivet version handles. The leather scabbard is the second pattern with the three rivets on the metal throat. The leather is soft and supple, the stitching is all intact, no fraying. It is marked: USMC BOYT 44. Please see photos for details and condition. This knife is commonly assumed to be US Marine Corps, because of the USMC markings. The USMC markings actually represent the United States Medical Corps. This knife was used by US Army Medics in the field during WWII. It was also used by some US Navy Corpsmen as well. It is not a Marine Corps issued weapon. See M.H.
