Description: An original WW1 British Army unused template for an INFANTRY TRENCH MAP entitled "GHELUVELT". Also features WESTHOEK, POLYGON WOOD, BECELAERE, GLENCORSE WOOD, INVERNESS COPSE, SHREWSBURY FOREST etc There are no overprinted trenches, but this unbacked template is dated November 1917. This would indicate that it was printed for use during the Battle of Passchendaele and was left unused when the Battle ended on the 10th November. Scale 1:10,000 This map used to be part of the duplicate archives of the Imperial War Museum who cleared out a large amount of stock over twenty years ago. The museum has carried out a few minor edge repairs but it has never been folded, making this a good solid example. The few filing holes in the left margin no doubt relate to its time in the official archives before it was donated to the museum. Will be sent rolled in a tube. Please see my other WW1 (and WW2) maps, documents, manuals, photos etc (Seller's Ref - 1019)
