Description: "Made In" is stamped on the inside of the lid, but no country after that! Measures approximately: 7 in wide 6 in long 2 in tall This was a great find that I am leaving in as found condition. Will leave the cleaning to someone more qualified. Estimating early 1900's. The background color on the top of the lid is a nice, soft dark plum ish color, while the sides and interior are black lacquer. The bird & flower colors are just gorgeous shades of robin's egg blue, tangerine and pink. Very striking! The colors pop against the flatter grey branches and plum background. The branches and wings have nice detailing. Fair to good vintage pre-owned condition. Along the sides there is quite a bit of chipping. However, the most important top area looks nice other than possibly needing a cleaning and there is a crack on the righthand side which is aproximately 1/4 inch long, as seen in the last image. Also, as seen in the 2nd to last image, the latch is hanging, but it's still shuts without a problem (though isn't latched per se, just closed). No key. NONETHELESS THIS IS A GORHEOUS LACQUERWARE trinket, jewelry, dresser or smaller document box!! The design is simply beautiful. Please see all of the attached images and close up views, as these are considered part of the item description.
