Description: c. 1930s; International Mutoscope Corp. - New York Vintage coin-op personality machine topper. This piece, first designed in 1908 by Caille Brothers Co., was once part of a carnival arcade personality tester. The coin-op machine "judged" your personality based on a handshake with Uncle Sam. The hand has been replaced here with a closed fist around a gun, not nearly as welcoming as the handshake (but very on-brand for America). The personality meter was removed at some point in time and replaced with a vintage Westclox electric clock to turn this into an accent piece. Clock runs on two AA batteries.
