Description: Vintage facsimile/reprint of an 1849 book titled: A Visit from St. Nicholas, written by Clement C. Moore LL.D. and originally published by Spalding & Shepard of New York. The back cover reads: "This is a HAPPY re-creation of the 1849 ILLUSTRATED EDITION of which only two copies are known to exist. That from which this facsimile was reproduced remains behind locked doors in New York's Fifth Avenue Library." The cover reads: SAINT NICHOLAS. and the first page reads: SANTA CLAUS. The book measures 6 1/4" tall by 4 5/8" wide. The inside back cover is inscribed as a gift to a former teacher. In researching the person that gifted this book, it appears that she would have graduated from Pepperdine University in Malibu, California in the mid to late 1960s, which would likely date this reprint to the 1960s.
