Description: Vintage Authentic Large Hand Carved Solid Wood African Tribal Senufo Kalao Bird Mask Mali or North Ivory Coast. Mask measures 18 inches tall and 7inches wide and weighs 1 lb 15 oz. Perched on top is a crane with beak touching forehead, typical of Ivory Coast tribal masks. The back of mask is carved to fit a human face with eye slits in proper place for looking out. There is a hole so that the wearer can tie mask on head. I purchased this mask in Africa in 1970s.
