It is a polished blade so you could probably get this one to shine up nice. Judging from the excess threads beyond the pummel I am figuring that the leather stacks have dried out some. Everything is tight. It is stamped ITALY but it got kinda close to the blade taper and the Y is sort of missing, so its actually stamped ITAL. A few nicks in the leather stacks from storage I suppose and the same type of nicks and scratches in the sheath. Still seems like a pretty nice knife and should be worth putting a little TLC in it to make it the quality knife that it started out to be. The sheath has no issues and other than the knife being stored in it I dont think it was carried. Shows no wear from being on a belt.
