Description: We are pleased to offer for your consideration a pair of previously owned and used VINTAGE GRISWOLD AMERICAN # 8 CAST IRON WAFFLE MAKER PADDLES (NO base and NO coil spring handles). Circa 1908-1920. Both paddles are marked the same on top in raised letters: AMERICAN NO 8 Griswold Big Block logo THE GRISWOLD MFG. CO. ERIE PA. U. S. A. PAT'D DEC. 1. 1908."; 314 B on one; 315 on the other. The paddles are identical with a clows ball hinge, standard waffle grid, side tab, and cast iron handle base. The waffle paddles each measure approx. 7 3/4" in diameter on outside (7 1/8" waffle grid) x 5/8" high x 12" long from outside of hinge to tip of cast iron handle base. They are both in very good clean used condition with no pitting, no warping, no cracks, no damage noted. The original Griswold steel pin rods are still screwed into the paddles, but the coil spring handles are missing. The steel pins have screw threads on one end and an eye hook on the other end. They each measure 1/4" in diameter by approx. 6 13/16" long including the eye hook. Each rod screws into a waffle paddle through the handle base. Replacement handles could be made from wooden dowel rods if no coil handles are available to you. These waffle paddles have been gently cleaned and restored, ready to use after seasoning and replacing handles. PLEASE NOTE: We will unscrew the steel pin rods for shipping due to their length when installed, wrap them separately and ship them along with the paddles (if you return these paddles for any reason, the steel rod handles must be returned also or no refund).
