The Silver Nickel issue of 1942-1945 released stockpiles of raw nickel and the Steel Penny dated 1943 reduced the mounting demand for copper. In 1944 and 1945 used shell cases were salvaged and the metal used to make the last of the Emergency Coins. The coins are mounted in a wooden frame most suitable for hanging and displaying. There are 20 coines: 11 nickels, 3 steel pennies and 6 copper pennies. Face value of the coins is 64 cents.
