Description: This vintage advertising tin features the Columbia Tool Steel Co. of Chicago Heights, IL from about the 1930's. The steel color of the tin adds to its durability and makes it a great addition to any collection. This piece of merchandise and memorabilia is a must-have for advertising and collectibles enthusiasts. The tin is advertising their patented development of Maxite Hardening steel. It very well made and perfect for storing small items or displaying the Columbia Tool Steel Co. brand name. Note: This particular item was given to my mother when she was in her teens from her Dad who worked in the industry and probably got it from one of the salesmen. It was used by her to store her "personal items" so it has her handwritten inscription "Private" on the cover. It does not appear to be engraved into the metal, but written on the surface with some permanent ink.
