The hotel was built in 1973 adjacent to theForum (basketball) and Hollywood Park (horse racing). In the late 1980s, it became the Park PlazaHotel which was closed in 1991 and imploded in 1995 to make way for an NFLstadium that was never built when Oakland Raiders owner Al Davis refused toshare it with another team. In 2020, theSoFi stadium opened on what had been the site of the hotel and HollywoodPark. The stadium is shared by theChargers and the Rams.
