Description: Vintage 1946 Around The World 6 #1541 Tru-Vue 3D Photos Film Strip Stereoviews____________________________________________________________ I have been collecting 3D media for the last 30 years and finally decided it's time to part ways with some of my favorite things. This is one of the hardest to find and most desirable Tru-Vue films ever made. (Please see my other listings for the others) This is a very hard to find Tru-Vue film strip reel of 3D pictures taken for the AROUND THE WORLD set. This set is really is a BEST OF set with the coolest 3D photos taken from other sets with some originals, too. The film strip reel contains 14 different 3D stereo images for viewing within a Tru-Vue viewer stereoscope (not included). See these historic pictures of World locations as they once were in these wonderful 3D photos from 75+ years ago! Today these reels are very interesting historic stuff, and all in eye-popping 3D! AROUND THE WORLD Numbers 1-3 turn up occasionally, but 4, 5 and 6 are very hard to find with 6 being the hardest to find. This is #1541 Around the World, no. 6 and is dated on the back of the reel 11-46. Condition:The film strip reel is in excellent condition and has its original red and white box with it's cardboard insert! I have personally gone through the film strip reel with white gloves on and inspected every frame and every film cog. All are perfect guaranteed! I would suggest when viewing these rare films (and all other Tru-Vue films), to pull them slowly through the viewer rather than using the advance lever. This is how the cogs get torn. The box is in EXCELLENT condition! It does have a very small amount of the usual shelf wear that would be expected as can be seen in my photos. All flaps are present and there are no tears or crushes anywhere on the boxes. I have tried my best to photograph every aspect of the boxes and film strips. The company was founded in 1931 and after the 1933 "Century of Progress Exposition" in Chicago grew and flourished through the 1930's and 40's. The original viewers used 35mm filmstrips, generally containing 14 stereo views, which were pulled through the viewer using a lever (visible at the bottom of the left-hand photograph below). In 1949 Tru-Vue sold over a million reels of film!. The quality of the 3D presented is generally very good, although the films need to be handled carefully. Film-strips and viewers were made between 1933 and 1952. Ultimately the Tru-Vue company was acquired by Sawyers View-Master in 1952, who wanted the rights to Disney licences held by the company.
