Description: CONDITION NOTE: Used. Very good, grade A- condition. Little or no wear on the blades and other tools. Everything moves smoothly, with excellent snap. Only slight wear on the textured faux stag scales. The only flaw is that is does not include the snap-on saw cover. MODEL DESCRIPTION:The Victorinox Stag Hunter Swiss Army knife is a large, retired, 108mm / 4 3/8” Swiss Army knife with faux stag scales made of molded nylon, and tools designed for hunters. This knife includes an early version of the gutting blade: it is full length, slightly curved, and thickened on the end. It is actually more similar to the Belt Cutter found on a few later 111mm models, rather the gutting blade on the modern Hunter model. The Stag Hunter was part of the Safari series, based on the German Army knife from the late 1970s until the early 2000s. There were 6 different tool configurations in the series: this and the Mauser were the largest. The same tools were also available with red nylon scales. Most of the Safari series featured the same clever wood saw as on this model: a unique setup with a bottle opener and screwdriver at the tip. The wood saw often came with a snap-on cover to protect the teeth, but it sometimes was omitted, and frequently was lost by users. Most Safari knives also have a 5-turn corkscrew and solid awl on the rear. The Victorinox Stag Hunter knife is 108mm (4 3/8") long, 28mm (1.1") wide, and 21mm (7/8") thick.
