Some Book Reviews:5/5 stars - THE SECOND COLLECTION OF PHOTOGRAPHS, PLUS COMMENTARYCo-author Wendelle Stevens wrote in the Preface to this 1986 book, “In preparing these selections from ou[r] files of UFO photographs, we have already removed all those photos that we have reason to suspect as well as all that we have confirmed as fakes. We have also removed what we believe are misperceived natural phenomena, and are therefore left with what we consider real Unidentified Flying Objects. These are the cases that still mystify us. In some of these cases we seem to have enough data on the craft and its occupants, if any, to indicate a place of origin and what the object is, so that it does not tru[ly] remain unknown, but we are able to verify the data and so in a sense it can not really be known either… Having frequently had the frustrating experience of miscaptioned and incorrectly identified UFO photographs… we have agreed to pay special attention, and to go to whatever effort necessary, to assure ourselves of properly labeled pictures in our presentation here.” While recounting 5 photos by George Adamski, they lament, “There are a lot of strange things that happen in this business of UFO investigation, but among the most disconcerting is the amount of unnecessary blunder in dealing with the phenomena. Too frequently good evidence is ‘lost’ or ‘stolen,’ removed from the mail, damaged in the process of handling, etc., and this case is no exception. Those pictures of the mother-ship launching the smaller craft, that were released, did not show all there was to see…” (Pg. 39) Of other 1951 photos by Adamski, they comment, “On 5 March 1951… George Adamski succeeded in photographing the ‘big one’ that he had observed before… Unknown to Adamski, on the following morning… Mr. Ray Fetterman, a route salesman in that southern part of California, and his wife Helen, were… drinking a refreshment when a glint in the sky caught their attention… On 20 November 1952, Mr. Adamski [and 6 others] … proceeded to a point north of Desert Center… for a meeting with an entity they were independently in some kind of telepathic contact with, and this meeting had been suggested by the entity, and they were responding to an arrangement made… It was only 2 weeks before Adamski’s photographs of 5 March… that passengers M. Bicknell and friend shot motion pictures of a very similar cylindrical gray object from an airliner in flight… Adamski could not have known of these movies before he shot the night launch sequence because the roll of movie had not been developed yet, and Bicknell could not have known that Adamski would photograph the same kind of ship in a few days.” (Pg. 48-50) Of a 1966 Rhode Island sighting, they note, “Harold Trudel… took the roll of film containing the four first pictures to a local developing outfit the following day. Three days later, his film was returned fully developed EXCEPT for the last four frames! Upon inquiry he was told that the last four frames contained nothing. (This happens to UFO photographs far beyond any average for pictures in general.)” (Pg. 97) Of a 1977 Argentina sighting, they observe, “This sighting is remarkable because it is not often that more than one object is captured in a UFO photo, but in this case the ‘mother ship’ was observed in the process of launching smaller craft which then flew about independently in the sky, and were actually photographed together with the carrier.” (Pg. 160) They recount, “on an undetermined day in January of 1967… James Bjornstad, a research consultant at the Christian Research Institute … was driving in the vicinity of the immaculate Conception Seminary … when his attention was attracted to an something flying in the sky… he could see a dull dark gray object sitting almost motionless in the sky beyond. Stopping the car… Bjornstad got out… and snapped one picture of the strange flying machine. Shortly after he snapped the color photograph, the circular object shot off instantly and went out of sight, before he could get another… When [he] received the developed roll of film and prints back, he saw that the picture had come out very clear and sharp. He really didn’t think much about it at the time because he was not interested in UFOs, and didn’t believe in them anyway. But this event roused his interest the more he thought about it, and he began a research project on UFOs for the Christian Research Institute for a booklet on UFOs.” (Pg. 198) Produced with a typewriter, and poorly edited (spelling errors, etc.), this book will still be of great interest to those studying UFOs.--Steven H Propp / TOP 100 REVIEWER 5/5 stars - Keep looking up!Retired Army officer. So this guy is lying... I think not! Wonderful photos of UFOs. Straight out definitions of each. It's so real it's scary.--Geffrey McQueen 5/5 stars - Another Fascinating UFO VolumeThis UFO book, presented by Wendell Stevens and August Roberts is Far Out!! I had never known that such a professionally published book on UFO's existed, back in 1985, when I was a teenager a new to this rare subject. Had I known that all four Volumes existed I would have bought them all, back then. Nevertheless, I am happy to come across his books on the Subject and Wow...I love the photographs that were photographed by various peoples across the world within the last 60 years. Anyone who is interested in UFO phenomena should get his or her hands on all 4 volumes. It makes a great reading and prompts individual research on the subject--Aziz Naek Copyright © 2018-2021 TDM Inc. The photos and text in this listing are copyrighted.
