Foxing and toning to the title page and around the photograph. Some light damp stains and warping to the rest of the preliminary pages. Light toning and foxing to the text. Inscription on the right front flyleaf reads - "To Wm & H M Stevens from their sisters at Hillside 23 Nov. 1867". Names of Miss E. S. Stevens and Mrs R W Lane (written in the same hand and possibly at a later date) located on the front blank end sheet. A loose handwriiten page from Hillside dated 1867 laid inside the front cover.
