Description: THE SOUND OF MUSIC, Herald (Advertising Flyer), Bijou Theatre, NYC. The one-woman concert revue opened in NYC on 11/09/56 and ran for only 11 performances. The front features artwork, Hallmark credit, critic's quote, discount ticket offer and theatre credit. The back contains critics' quotes, song list, ticket discount offer and theatre credit. No cast is listed. Music by Richard Rodgers, lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein with additional lyrics by Richard Rogers and book by Howard Lindsay and Russel Crouse (suggested by The Trapp Family Singers by Maria Augusta Trapp). Directed by Susan H. Schulman and choreographed by Michael Lichtefeld. This is NOT a reproduction!! Heralds are advertising flyers that are placed at theatres and sometimes included in Playbills and programs. Sizes vary but most of the older ones are 6 x 9 1/2 inches. Brochure style heralds can be one sheet or multi folds and measure about 3 3/4 x 8 1/2 inches. Condition is near excellent with minor bottom edge wear. International purchases are subject to a $2.00 handling fee. CONDITION: I use a six-step condition scale to describe the overall paper quality: Mint, Excellent, Very Good, Good, Fair, Poor. Good means just that: desireable for a collection with no immediate need to upgrade. Excellent and Mint are usually reserved for publisher and music store remainders. Expect Good-minus and Fair to have considerable wear. All specific condition faults are noted after the general condition. IMAGES: I use a digital camera so the entire piece is visible.
