Description: The Idiot by Fyodor Dostoevsky. Published by the Macmillan Company in 1913. This is a first American edition, first printing. Quite scarce and highly collectible. The book is in good only condition for its age. The boards are soiled, stained, rubbed, worn, corners and spine tips are bumped and frayed, spine tip cloth is torn at top (see pictures), pink splatter marks to spine as well as some mottling. Exposed edges of text block a little dusty and bumped in a few places resulting in some pages corners being crinkled. Front pastedown has name and address written on it. Rear free endpaper has black smudge or fingerprints. Small spot on page 619 where small area of page began to peal. Pages appear to be relatively clean with a few small blemishes, smudges, and/or marks here and there. Still a decent copy of a hard to find, highly sought after book. Please ask questions or for more pictures before bidding/buying so you can assess condition for yourself. I want my customers to know exactly what they are getting and to be happy with their purchases. If in doubt, please ASK QUESTIONS BEFORE bidding/buying. Thanks for looking and Happy Bidding!!!
