Beautiful craftmanship with the lovely unique details of the wood taken into account into the shape of the sculpture. See closeups of the cat's back and nose for the natural burls in the wood and the rounded grain on the cat's chest, lending almost a heart like shape across its upper legs. Evidence of old price sticker on lower back and possibly a suggestion of a signature on the bottom but markings are unclear. This style of wooden cat sculpture is typically attributed to Lina Vizcarra Oandasan's company that exported wooden handicrafts from the Philippines in the mid 20th century.
