Description: I am listing this instrument on behalf of the owner. He reports: Steinway Model D concert grand piano. Owned by university music faculty member. Regulated and concert hall ready. Serial number 401784. Built 1967.Highlights of piano’s history:It began its life as CD-128. CD (or "Concert D") is the designation Steinway gives to several of its highest quality pianos in inventory, made available for selection by pianists performing in New York City. We can only speculate how many of the great pianists of the 20th century have sat at these keys.Subsequently, it was purchased by Mr. Barry Finclair, who served as violinist in the NY Philharmonic.https://www.legacy.com/us/obituaries/nytimes/name/barry-finclair-obituary?pid=161123159While with Mr. Finclair, the piano served as the concert instrument for L’Ensemble Chamber Players of Bennington, VT. During this time, it was maintained by piano technician Rand Reeves of Albany. I acquired the piano from Mr. Finclair's family in 2018 and have maintained it with great care.
