Description: • Item DescriptionThis listing from a smoke free home is for a set of TWO professionally graded CGC 9.8 (NM/MT) with perfect WHITE pages UPC/NEWSSTAND VARIANT copies of superstar Todd McFarlane's SPIDER-MAN: (1) You get the #1 issue, Marvel Comics, 8/1990, first printing, green background cover, originally distributed in polybags on newsstands, and submitted to CGC still sealed in its original poly-bag (thus receiving their "Poly-Bagged Edition/Newsstand Edition" label notation, awesome!), AND, (2) You get issue #13, Marvel Comics, 8/1991, featuring McFarlane's take on MORBIUS THE LIVING VAMPIRE, and with a cover that in my opinion is THE SINGLE BEST SPIDER-MAN #1 COVER SWIPE OUT THERE because (A) it is by Todd McFarlane HIMSELF (he "cover swiped himself" - how awesome is that!?), (B) Spidey is wearing the BLACK COSTUME, and (C) McFarlane revealed "71" under his name (bottom right) for all those "easter egg hunters" out there who like to search for his hidden spiders!!Todd McFarlane famously hid spiders in his artwork, sometimes writing the number of hidden spiders next to his name, but for the #1 issue of Spider-Man there were so many that he actually just put a question mark (see the '?' below his name, bottom right corner on issue #1)... Fans took that as a challenge and wrote in with the answer, which he then later confirmed for us all, on the cover of #13!!! With so many cover swipes over time paying homage to this cover, it is clearly one of the most famous Spider-Man covers of all time, and most collectors and at least one grading company (so far) deem this to officially be a CLASSIC COVER, so I expect that CGC will eventually view it this way as well given the passage of enough time!• Shipping InformationPackage weight for me to ship one carefully-boxed slab is a 3lb box; additional comics can be combined and I've configured my settings to add 2lb for each additional comic.
