Description: Here's vintage SINGER in beautiful condition and works as it should. It comes equipped with the foot controller, new power cord and belt. All in all, this is an amazing little machine. Its simplicity will not intimidate the novice, and its rugged build will allow the bobbin to cut through just about any material. At the same time, you can adjust this Singer to finesse fine fabrics. You will be hard pressed to find one in nicer condition. It sparkles! Comes complete with gold on black decorated metal base. Bentwood case. Many of today's machines are not able to sew the thicknesses that the Singer 99k can handle. With a simple change of needles, pressure foot and thread and you will be amazed at what this machine can do. The 99 will sew most fabrics from fine weave to denim and will handle any normal household sewing task with ease. The machines have adjustable tension and stitch length controls. Keep in mind that it is highly collectible! In 1921 the company introduced the option of a Singer elect4ic motor making the 99K the first portable electric machine. This machine is ¾ of the size of the Singer 66Kr. Early Singer 99's were sold in wooden bases with a small compartment under the balance wheel to store accessories and bobbins etc. The 'Bentwood' (polished plywood) covers are very desirable to collectors. This machine is mounted in the Bentwood case and features a metal storage compartment for sewing accessories! Later versions had plastic bases. The first model 99's produced were hand cranks to power them. Later 99K's, including this one, had factory fitted motors, with optional lights and foot controllers and sleeker flywheels. Perhaps the most obvious design change during the 99's production was in the mechanism used for adjusting the stitch length. Early models utilized a screw in knob which gave no direct indication of what length had been set. This was later replaced by a lever with graduated scale, which is featured on this machine. With lever type adjusters, fully raising the lever reverses the feed for back tacking. This machine is fitted with the optional light. As equipped, this Model 99 falls within the sweet spot of SINGER's production. Includes 99K machine, Bentwood Case, and impossible to find, vintage Accessories! Pickup in Chester/Goshen NY, 10918.
