Description: SIGNED Donny Osmond My Life So Far 1st Ed Hardcover HCDJ Brothers Mormon LDS_____________________________________ Life Is Just What You Make It: My Story So Farby Donny OsmondPublished by Hyperion, NY (1999)FIRST EDITION HARDCOVER w DUST JACKET SIGNED BY DONNY OSMOND About The Book:Donny Osmond’s autobiography, Life is Just What You Make It, is a journey-like story about a teen idol’s rising to fame and suddenly becoming yesterday’s news. In the book, he describes the wonderfulness and hardships of being a young, Mormon heartthrob during most of the 1970s decade. He describes his warm beginnings (accompanied by 4 of his brothers, Merrill, Jay, Wayne, and Alan.) with great detail, (taking place in the mid-60’s) and shares the 411 of the music industry, exposing techniques and other ropes of the show biz. I encourage every reader to read this book. It’s worth your time. Condition:Excellent First Edition / First Printing Hardcover Book with Dust Jacket Signed by Donny on the title page! Some Book Reviews:5/5 stars - Book is a consistent, enjoyable read about Osmond's life.By shelloweAs a long-time fan, I anxiously awaited this book, and it was NOT a disappointment. Well-written and concise, it covers Donny and his brother's careers throughout the last four decades. I am a realist, though, and I know the book will have its detractors, most notably the unopen-minded people who let the Osmond's positive views on family and God interfere with letting them listen to the consistent good music that they were capable of making, and later making their fans feel that it was something that they should be apologetic for liking. I hope critics will come to realize that just because someone did not wind up in an alcohol or drug rehab in their autobiography, it does not make their life any less interesting to read about. Isn't it enough that the man feels that even after twenty-five years that he still has to apologize for being Donny Osmond? You can bet that although he may not get the accolades that Michael Jackson did in the eighties, that he is a much happier man with the life that he has lived. 5/5 stars - Very Respectable GuyBy FuzzballLoved Donny as a kid as well as the Osmond music. This book is so well written and honest one can't help but have even greater admiration and respect for Donny. How he's dealt with fame, family, politics within the family, disappointment, and success is a great example for the rest of us to follow. Highly recommended even if you aren't a Donny or Osmond fan and just want to read an inspirational book. It is not a religious recount either, although of course he references his religion periodically (he isn't proselytizing in any way). Thanks Donny! 5/5 stars - Donny Osmond - My Life So FarBy sugarwI'm not sure the title is accurate: 'Life is Just What You Make It'; perhaps more adequate is 'My Life So Far; Never Giving Up'.Donny's life as a child was humble, with loving parents who wanted to bring out the best in each child. As it skyrocked into something much bigger than what the family anticipated there were certain consequences for all of it; good and bad. Donny shared his heart, wisdom, humor, life (good and bad, thank you!)and his family with his readers. Also ever present was his steadfast faith that didn't sway in the midst of defeat or even success. This makes an extraordinary individual. I can identify with Donny and his siblings having to be put on a pedestal and have a happy face all the time. But, inside there's a gnawing to be 'normal' and able to show emotions, feelings and thoughts without being shushed or criticized. Donny's eventual panic attacks were the result of this. Kudos to you Donny, for a heartwarming book. Hopefully there will be a sequel update titled "Still Moving Forward...". Copyright © 2018-2024 TDM Inc.
