The book has no writing or highlighting inside, there are no turned pages, and the only thing you can see is a price tag label on the front cover. The spiritual disciplines handbook may not be familiar to you, but perhaps it should be. Here the author looks at, many different Christian practices in close to 300 pages. The practices are set up in a very practical way so to speak. There is an introduction to the topic followed by reflection questions and then spiritual exercises. There’s a handy-dandy chart that helps you look at each of the practices in the same way, listing a desire, a definition, scripture, verses, practical applications, and the God-given fruits from this practice. They’re really cool charts. They’re also resources at the end of each section for further study. I use this book in creating a whole series of messages, small group meetings, and daily devotionals that were emailed out to my parish, this is a paperback text, with no writing or highlighting inside, no turned pages, and the only sign of wear and tear is a slight crease in the top right hand corner of the front cover.
