Smith and originally published in 1949. This offering contains histories of the county's 12 Townships. We have separate books from this same source available for the History of Minnehaha County and the City of Sioux Falls. The tri-color front cover is printed on 80# card stock and has been protected with a vinyl sheet. The text is printed on 60# opaque paper. Although the booklet count is 59 pages, it includes nearly double that number from the original book, as we were able to fit two pages of source material on each of the 11" x 8.5" sheet in the new booklet. The book consists of chapters on each of these townships: Valley Springs, Split Rock, Sioux Falls, Wayne, Wall Lake, Wellington, Red Rock, Brandon, Mapleton, Benton, Hartford, Humboldt, Palisades, Edison, Sverdrup, Lyons, Grand Meadow, Clear Lake, Highland, Logan, Dell Rapids, Burk, Taopi, and Buffalo. Within these township histories is information on the following towns and villages: Valley Springs, Ben Clare, West Sioux Falls, Brandon, Corson, Renner, Crooks, Sherman, Palisades, Baltic, and the cities of Hartford, Humboldt, and Garretson.
