Description: Restored and refinished solid wood antique storage/document box. The box measures 11 1/2" long x 8" deep x 3 1/2" tall. Inside is 10 1/2" long x 7 1/8" deep x 2 3/4" tall. Assembled using 1/2" thick solid wood using a half blind lap joint strength and appearance. Refinished with several coats of Satin MinWax varnish and hand-polished with 0000 steel wool and paste-wax for a soft luster. Fully lined with new black felt. Bottom is covered with black felt and has rubber feet for ease of handling. No key for the lock. Lid is slightly twisted from age. Repaired shrinkage split on lid. Blank brass plaque for engraving.
