Description: Watchful Eagle Antiques (Please read entire listing carefully, especially Description and Condition portions) Title: Rare HTF Antique book 1879 Unser Heim Schmuck der Kunst interior design prints Description: Up for sale is this Large Rare HTF Antique German book Unser Heim Schmuck der Kunst , which loosely translates to "adornments for the home". I don't speak/read German but it appears to be discussion of interior design for individual rooms of a Victorian era home. I was so enchanted by detail in the illustrations. This is a text with some physical issues, but it is so rich with illustrations & context that I believe it would be a necessary & valued addition to any antique book collection. The highlighted rooms include : nursery, music room, hunter's hall, study, dining room, etc. This book has condition issues but the beauty of the prints far overshadows them. Author/Illustrator : Friedrich, Schmid, Weichardt, Milberg, Mothes, Rolenberg Size : 15 x 11 inches Date/Publisher : I couldn't find a date on my copy, but research indicates that it was 1879/ Leipzig : Edwin Schloemp Condition : The cover & binding has issues (see photos) & there is some older repairs. I believe that there is one page of text ( #13/14) which is missing. The plates are gorgeous and saturated in the historical content of the period. This was obviously a utilized copy and shows its wear & age. Photos are best representations of actual condition so please use them in your evaluation. Many of the pages have supportive tape at binding.. Unless Specifically stated as new or unused, many of our items are pre-loved pieces moving on to new homes. This means they may show a certain amount of wear commensurate with their age but I endeavor to identify any significant flaws or damage.
