Description: Vintage/Rare Single Blade Queen Steel Folder Knife in a box made by Queen Cutlery Company Titusville Pennsylvania USA c1981 In 1922, Queen City Cutlery Company, established and incorporated in Titusville, Pennsylvania USA. In around 1945 the company began operation under the name Queen Cutlery Company. The same year they developed and used a proprietary alloy stainless steel they called “Queen Steel” material for use in their production of bladed knives. Queen Cutlery Company is a direct descendant of Schatt & Morgan Cutlery Company. Both companies benefit from US Government tariff on imported knives and cutlery made these imported products costly to American consumers. The company prospered producing cutlery products on their own in the USA, uninhibited by European guild and traditions and affordable for US consumers. This opportunity led to the birth of the “Golden Age” of American cutlery industry. Unfortunately, after more than a century run, in January of 2018 the company declared bankruptcy and closed their doors. This knife has a single Queen Steel clip blade 3-1/2” long. Rust-free, unused, un-sharpened and still has evidence of original factory blade grinding and edging. The blade has a strong snap from the steel backspring. Blade etching indicates Queen Steel logo #11EOA over MADE IN U.S.A. The tang stamp indicates a long tail and crown. It has yellow smooth DELRIN knife handles with a dual fingernail pull notch. There is a circular nickel silver shield with Crown/Queen logo engraving. The bolsters are nickel silver, full no damage and perfectly aligned with the steel back-spring and brass knife frame. The overall length of the knife at close position, is a respectable ”four inches in length” Absolutely! No selling to minors.
