Description: An intriguing brass snare drum shell of unknown origin. This is probably a German drum from a small obscure maker, perhaps 1900s-40s vintage. With a rolled bearing edge and reinforcement band, it had single point lug posts on it. The only piece of hardware currently on the shell is a simple post-style butt plate, which is riveted on. Oversized at about 14.25 inches in outer diameter. Condition as shown, heavy patina, no apparent extra holes anywhere on it and both edges are very good without flaws. Has not been cleaned in any way. It is slightly out of round but it's a thin shell so this should be easily corrected with hardware on it. ------------ Visit my eBay store for hundreds more drum parts!
