Behind him is the partial outline of his native land, Poland. Above him fly doves, symbolizing peace. The legend in Polish, JAN PAWEL II - PIELGRZYM POKOJU translates as "John Paul II - Pilgrim of Peace". Reverse In the center, John Paul II's papal coat of arms, which include the keys of St. Peter.
