Description: Complete, original large-format first edition of Atlas Of Oneida County New York from actual Surveys and Official Records. This book is in quarter leather brown cloth-covered boards with "Atlas Of Oneida Co. New York. D.G. Beers & Co." embossed in gilt. Overall measurements are a generous 16¾" x 13½". There are 50 maps, 16 of which are double page. All maps are printed on heavy paper and are blank on the back. The maps were compiled from actual surveys and official records, and were published by D.G. Beers & Co., 31 South Sixth Street, Philadelphia, 1874. The title page credits the engraving to the Philadelphia firm of Worley & Bracher and the printing to pioneer Philadelphia lithographer Frederick Bourquin, at the same address as D.G. Beers and assistants W.C. Kewen and W. Upton. In addition to the maps there are business directories for cities and towns as well as statistics on populations from the 1870 census, a list of post offices, and a table of distances between villages, in miles and tenths on the nearest public road. Condition: The book is bound in its original quarter-leather cover, with gilt-embossed lettering on the front. The cover edges and spine ends show some wear, and the corners are bumped. The contents are clean, sound, and complete, and the maps are in excellent condition, with no marks, rips, or tears. Please see the scans, and feel free to ask any questions.
