First when the tray needs to close it does need a little assistance getting started to close. The play button is only half attached so it is wiggly but depresses as it is supposed to. Lastly only sometimes the unit will emit a short grinding sound but it is not consistent enough that it happens all the time and it only happens when the tray is moving not when the discs are playing.
