Description: Old Paris Hand Painted Mother Breast-Feeding & Gold Coffee Cup C.1790-1810 Antique late 18th century / early 19th century French Old Paris / Vieux Paris porcelain coffee cup / coffee can. Decorated with a hand painted scene depicting a mother breastfeeding, the mother, and all the children gathered around with the phrase "amitié conjugale et filiule" below. With gold scrollwork leaves coming off the bottom of the handle and gold gilding along the edge. Has a puce mark on the base. Circa 1790 to 1810. Has some wear to the gilding and the handle has been professionally repaired. Measures approximately 3 3/8 inches wide including the handle x 2 1/2 inches tall.
