In serving for nearly a century, the restaurant was around for some of the most important events of the city’s long and storied history. Cavanagh used its early creation to promote itself in a series of "Way Back When" postcards. This One notes that Cavanagh had long been serving food when the 1904 arcade feature the Great Train Robbery came out: "WAY BACK WHEN - 'The Great Train Robbery was thrilling nickelodeon patrons in 1904, Cavavagh's cuisine had already been causing excitement among epicures for 28 years." This Linen Era (1930-45) postcard is in good condition.
