The Gibson J-180 has been used by rock, country and pop legends, from legendary artists such as the Everly Brothers, Cat Stevens and Billie Joe Armstrong to some of the most famous artists today. Now, Epiphone is collaborating with Gibson Custom Shop to release a new model of this popular J-180. An all-solid body with a thermally aged spruce top and mahogany back/sides, featuring traditional scalloped X bracing. The neck is a one-piece mahogany neck with a C profile and 25.5 inches (LS: Long Scale), and the fingerboard features a mother-of-pearl star inlay, which is the symbol of this model. The saddle, bridge pins, and nut are all molded from bone material to improve sustain and volume. The headstock features Gibson's original "openbook" headstock shape, with a star inlay on the front and the "Inspired by Gibson Custom" logo engraved on the back. It is equipped with an L.R.Baggs VTC preamp and under-saddle piezo pickup system, making it suitable for a variety of situations, including live performances and studio recordings. A hardshell case with the Inspired by Gibson Custom logo is included. The collaboration between Epiphone and Gibson Custom Shop continues to produce unmistakably familiar and high-quality guitars.
