With over 50 years as part of NASCAR, Shepherd became the oldest winner(next to Harry Gant) in 1993 in Atlanta at 51 yo. He holds the record as the oldest driver to start a race in NASCAR's top three series at 77 yo. and oldest to lead a lap at 75 yo. He's driven in over 1,000 races in NASCAR's top three series. He is currently a team owner, a lay minister to the NASCAR community and hosts a charity event for disabled Americans.
