Description: PLEASE NOTE: THE SHIPPING SHOWN IS ONLY PRIORIY OR GROUND ADVANTAGE WITHON THE CONTINENTAL UNITED STATES - BUYERS ELSEWHERE MUST CONTACT ME AND ACCEPT FULL POSTAGR COST TO THEIR LOCATION BEFORE BIDDING. I am happy to combine postage (see my other items, though only books can be sent by media mail). I'm not a dealer, just an OCD collector looking to make room in my life. Please feel free to contact me with questions or for further photos. Thanks for looking. This guard helmet is a beauty, clearly marked II. Garde 1867 - the holder for the horsehair plume (trichter) appears more silver than gold and screws off (I never had the spike top). The Garde star shows some oxidation, the eagle's finish is fairly good - it appears to be attached with small bolts ( I have never removed it) - the outside leather is also in great shape, the liner is a little dried and wrinkled but shows no signs of leather rot, just age.
