By the late 1970's, Star Trek had snowballed into a phenomenon. The announcement of a Star Trek motion picture came on the heals of the first Star Wars picture. Mego, once a trend setter with their 8" figures, copied the format of Kenner's 3 3/4" Star Wars line. While Star Trek: The Motion Picture was a financial success, it was a critical mess and the merchandising didn't do well. The line included: Admiral Kirk Mr.Spock Dr.McCoy Captain Decker Ilia Scotty Only the crew were widely released in the United States - with the line doing so poorly that the Trek aliens were dumped in Canada or Italy. The aliens included: Klingon Arcturian Zaranite Rigellian Megarite Betelgeusian Get yours today!
