Description: This Imperial Gallic "G" helmet is a high quality reproduction of the original. Made by Deepeeka, this helmet is based off historical research and is one of the best commercially available helmets today. Made of 18 gauge steel, this helmet is suitable for reenactments, high end costumes, role-playing, and makes for a stunning display piece for your collection.Considered the "typical mid-first century legionary helmet" (although the Coolus was probably more common) and it seems to have continued in use on into the early second century AD. The best example was found in the Rhine River at Mainz-Weisenau and is now exhibited in Worms, Germany. Helmets of this style can definitely be dated to the Boudican revolt of AD 61 based on fragments found in rubbish pits at Colchester (now reassembled and displayed at the Colchester Castle Museum). The carrying handle seen on the Weisenau original (and our reproduction) may date it slightly later, as none were present with the Colchester fragments. The brass rosettes on this resemble those found on the Corbridge type lorica segmentata. Therefore these two pieces of equipment are often portrayed together in modern reconstructions.Measurements:One size fits most. 22 to 23 Inch Circumference.Head size of up to 24.4"Weighs abt. 4 lbs.NOTE: Free Helmet Padding
