Illustrator Charles Gibson's "Gibson Girl" is often touted as the first national standard of beauty. He believed his creation represented "thousands of American girls". This doll was only produced between 1988 - 1990. Head turns, rotates. Rooted strawberry blonde hair swept back in tasteful bun at the base of head. Hazel sleep eyes with blue eyeshadow. Painted eyelashes and eyebrows. Outfit includes black straw hat, black & white gingham long sleeved blouse with lace trimmed long sleeves and puffed shoulders. White collar with red bowtie at neck. Black belt with rhinestone square belt buckle. A bright red full velvet skirt covers a white satin slip over tulle crinoline and bustle in back. Black shoes with lucite high heels.
