This is interwoven with the Ventriloquist and Scarface's escape from Arkham and their subsequent bank heist, which Robin must thwart. The challenges faced by Robin create a compelling narrative that examines the personal dilemmas and responsibilities that come with the mantle of heroism. In "Batman Adventures" #19 titled "Reel to Real," the city of Gotham is plunged into a state of terror as its citizens, including Batman, are haunted by nightmares featuring the menacing visage of the Scarecrow. These nightmares instill a pervasive fear of Scarecrow's silhouette, empowering him to spread chaos simply by his presence. Batman deduces that the source of these nightmares is a high-frequency transmission, a technology beyond Scarecrow's expertise. He traces it back to a scientist's lab, where he learns that the effects will dissipate in time. Despite this, Scarecrow's reign of terror continues until Batman, in a cunning move, unmasks him, revealing the man behind the mask and dispelling the induced phobia.
