Description: This gorgeous pastel seascape painting features a young boy on the shore in the sand dunes with his fishing pole, gazing at the ocean as seabirds fly overhead. The sunset is a brilliant burst of golden ivory through the pink clouds with the bright blue sky in the background. The dunes are cast in pink light as the sea oats wave in the soft ocean breeze. The medium is oil on canvas, mounted on wood, and framed. It is signed "Thomas". There are many artists named Thomas who may have painted this piece, and I have no information on this artist. I don't know the age of the painting, but it is likely a decor piece from the 1990s based on the style and color palette. The coastal scene is beautifully executed in shades of periwinkle blue, cotton candy pink, and golden ivory with touches of lavender, grays, deep green and rust here and there. It is framed in an ornate, antiqued gilded gold frame with an oatmeal linen inner border and an inner gold rim. It looks good with beachy interiors, but also works well with more formal design - I have used it with both. It measures about 28 inches in height and is approximately 24 inches wide, so it is a medium - large size that nicely fills a blank space on a wall or shelf. The (canvas) picture itself is in excellent condition, with no visible stains, tears, or holes. The frame has some very minimal normal wear, but no significant scratches, scuffs or gouges. The linen border in the frame is in good condition with no stains, tears, or unraveling. The canvas is firmly mounted in the frame. The hanging bracket is secure and sturdy.
