Repoussé foliate work is on the raised portion at the back of the shell. The shell itself has 24 channels and an applied foliate rim. The dish rests on three leaf shaped feet. The shell measures 6 3/8 inches high (to the top of the back panel) by 10 3/4 inches wide by 10 1/2 inches deep (the back of the panel to the front rim). The piece weighs 26.9 troy ounces.
