The cards are pictured and the lot may include regular issue and specialty cards from Topps, Post Cereal, Upper Deck, Leaf, Score, Donruss, Fleer, Stadium Club, Bowman, Ultra, and more. He played for over 20 seasons, his first six with the Cincinnati Reds, then 14 seasons with the New York Mets and a final year (2005) with the Houston Astros. He was selected as a National League All-Star four times, was the NL saves leader 3 times and is a member of the NY Mets Hall of Fame. Franco is originally from Brooklyn, played at Lafayette High school and starred at St John's University in Queens, N.Y. John was a lefty closer who featured a hard fastball and a change up which broke away from right handed hitters, like a screwball. His 1119 games pitched is still a National League record and his 424 saves ranks 5th all-time and remains #1 among left handers all time! He had a 90-87 record, 2.89 career ERA, struck out 975 hitters and provided leadership throughout his time with the Mets.
