Description: Offered for sale Belleek antique 'Grass' pattern glazed porcelain Tea Pot, approx., 9 & 1/2" across from tip of spout to handle. Printed first period mark, dating c1863-1891, with script '2' below the black mark. Painted grass decoration, with pink/brown, and gilded decoration. Lid with printed black 1st mark, and 'Tea making recipe' instructions reading 'Fill with water Blood warm and allow to stand a few minutes empty and use with boiling water' 'D Mc Birney & Co Belleek Fermanagh Ireland'. Good condition, some wear with age use, a small chip loss to inside of spout rim(please see photos), Minute pin grit inclusions around handle, and small kiln burst bubble base rim . This sale for one teapot as per photos. A nice early surviving example.
