Description: Iochroma edule 'Sweetheart' is a shrub in the Solanaceae family. Its native range is northwestern Peru in the Andes Mountains. They are found in forests and are hummingbird and bee-pollinated. Great for a patio or conservatory plant in cooler zones. It grows to around 4 feet tall and wide with grayish-green leaves. The flowers are tubular-shaped in clusters at the end. The fruits are heart-shaped, golden yellow that is edible and sweet. It prefers to grow in full sun to light shade with average water needs.
