Description: India - British 1911-B (Calcutta Mint) scarse MS-62 condition Silver "Pig Rupee". On the 1911 issue, Anna the king, is shown wearing a robe with a small elephant on the bottom of it. This elephant was thought to resemble a pig with the trunk appearing to be a pig snout and the short legs not appearing to be elephant like. This offended the religious sensibilities of many, so most of the 1911 Rupees were withheld from circulation and later melted down.
