Description: Heckel Bassoon SN 4218 Circa 1901 Great Long Bore Instrument READY TO PLAY PRODUCT DESCRIPTION Here is Heckel Bassoon #4218. The Heckel bassoons are the stuff of legends. Used by more orchestra professionals than any other bassoon, the sound of an older Heckel is unlike anything else in the bassoon world. This one was built in approximately 1901 and is a long bore instrument. It plays superbly as you'd expect from a Heckel, but with a smaller voice than the later short bore instruments. This instrument is in excellent playing condition. It has just been completely overhauled in our shop and is ready to play. Body shows some old crack repairs, and while whoever did that might have been a little enthusiastic with the pins, it is solid and well done. Keywork is original and unaltered and it is a blank slate for you to modify for your bassoon-playing sensibilities. It is branded Heckel on every joint. Includes an unbranded 2 bocal. Here's a chance to own a great piece of Heckel history. Please feel free to email with any additional questions! © Copyright . All rights reserved.
