Description: (DAPPER BEAR) HAMM'S RETRO STYLE THEO THE BEAR WITH A BEER ON A STUMP draft beer tap handle. Introduced in 0000. Theodore Hamm acquired the Philadelphia Brewing in St. Paul in 1865 and renamed it Excelsior Brewing. In 1894 they had a compound built with multiple brewery buildings as it was needed to keep up with the high demand for beer. Around 1896 it was officially named Hamm's Brewing Company. Later acquired by Heublin, who was purchase by Olympia who sold it to Stroh's which is now owned by Pabst. (Early head brewer was Jacob Schmidt, Hamm's old friend from Germany who later went on to form his own brewery in St. Paul). Hamm's Lager Beer. 4.7%ABV. Remastered and available today. Brewed in the Land of Sky-Blue Waters. Theo the bear was first drawn in 1952 and aired on TV commercials the next year. Multiple Breweriana items contain Theo on it now. He has remained their trusty black and white smiling mascot ever since. Tap is new. Excellent condition. Comes in original box. Please view all photos as they are the best part of the description. Shows the crown label with the pine trees between the spires. Not real heavy. Another fine Hamm's collectible. Stands about 12-1/4 inches tall.
