Description: A beautiful antique Art Deco 14k gold 3.1 carat hexagonal aquamarine scrolling filigree solitaire ring, dating to circa the 1920s. This truly stunning all original antique Art Deco solid 14k pale yellow gold solitaire ring has a gorgeous hexagonal faceted 3.1 carat natural aquamarine which glows and sparkles a lovely icy blue to a deep ocean blue depending on how it touches the light, the aquamarine set in an etched and carved bezel setting and raised high in an elaborate open work gallery, the graduating knife-edge shoulders full of fabulous open scrolling filigree work leading to a classic band-a super pretty ring which looks fantastic on the finger! The ring is unmarked and tests for 14k gold. The ring is approximately a size 6 3/4. The ring measures approximately 12mm x 11mm across the face. The aquamarine measures about 9mm x 7.8mm x 6.1mm or about 3.1 carats. The ring rises about 8mm above the finger and weighs approximately 3.3 grams. The ring is in general very good condition, viewed under a loupe the aquamarine has a little wear mostly along the facets. The ring has been resized.
