GORGEOUS 14 Kt. White Gold Lab-Created Purple-Red Color Change Sapphire Pendant

Description: GORGEOUS antique/vintage 14 Kt. white gold and lab-created color change sapphire/synthetic alexandrite gemstone pendant. These synthetic color change sapphire/alexandrite stones originated in the very early 1900’s and became particularly popular during the Egyptian Revival/Art Deco period and the discovery of King Tut’s tomb. This spectacular pendant is 7/8” long by 5/8” wide and weighs 4.7 grams. The stone is a deep, rich purple with blue and red tones and it has subtle color change properties with different light sources. This stone is beautifully faceted and is prong set in a very sturdy, substantial 14 Kt. white gold basket setting with a round attached bail. It is in very good antique/vintage condition with no damage other than, perhaps, very minor surface wear. The stone can be turned in the setting, but will not come out. It is well set in the prongs. I have had a number of these wonderful stones over the years and this is one of the nicer ones. The color is deep and rich with brilliant flashes of red and deep blue. The setting is unique. It is much sturdier than the settings I have seen over the years and it is in white gold, which is unusual. Perhaps it was re-set at some point. Irregardless, this is a beautiful pendant. I have held onto this for two years thinking that I would keep it. I just can’t keep everything, so here it goes.
